The Clubs annual Summer Fair is here again, we hope you can help to support this fantastic fund raiser.
Gates Open from 8:30am

Entrance Fees are:

Car with up to 2 People - £20
Car with 4 People - £25
People Carrier and Motor Home - £30
Motorbikes - £6 with Pillion £12
Adult Walk in - £5
Junior Walk in - £2

Open Day

The Club will be opening its doors to the wider community on Sunday 14th April to show potential new members the facilities on offer and introducing them to the sport of Crown Green Bowls. Our sport is a low impact, non contact sport that can be enjoyed by all ages. It is simple to learn and accessible to most. Everyone is welcome to come and try this sport which is suitable for the whole family.

Our doors will be open from 2:00pm and if you are interested in finding out about bowls or have an interest in joining the club please pop along, you will be made more than welcome.

Coaching Sessions

The first Skills Coaching Session will be commence on the 2 April with Steve, this session is currently fully subscribed as is the session on 30 April. There is are still vacancies on the Skills Coaching on 14 May.

Skills coaching will cover various topics, but are dependent on the students ability, but in the main they will include:

  • Bowls Selection
  • Delivery & Grip
  • Stance
  • Direction
  • Bias
  • Delivering to different lengths
  • Following a line
  • Following others line

There are still places available on the two video coaching sessions on the 16th April and 28th May, these sessions will focus on the analysis of the individual's Delivery and Stance, both of which form the foundation of consistently delivering good woods.

It is hoped that additional sessions will be placed in the calendar for the forthcoming season.

Coaching Sessions

As part of the clubs program to build the standard of play of its league players a series of Coaching sessions has been approved by the committee, which is being run by Steve Wall. A series of six mid-week sessions has been set and applications are by email direct to Steve. Consisting of a maximum of 4 people per session to enable an effective group. If these prove successful more dates will be added to the program. Dates to follow.

Tornado Flypast

The Flypast of the last Tornado aircraft will be over RAF Cosford on Tuesday Feb 19 at 13:29. The gates to the Complex will be open to the general public from 13:10. All are welcome to make use of our unique advantage point overlooking Cosford which will make a fantastic opportunity for photographers to take that special historical photo

Horse Racing Night

 The Club will be holding a HORSE RACE NIGHT on FRIDAY 22nd FEBRUARY 2019  7pm  cost £7pp  inc. Fish, Sausage or Roe and chip Supper. 
Orders for food and payment need to be with Cath by Friday 15 February. Further details have been emailed to club members.

Green Re-Opening

Although the Green has never officially closed through the winter months, there is an opening ceremony on Sunday 17 March, where Tea and Coffee etc will be available to welcome you back from the cold winter months.

Club Diary

Events for the 2019 season have now been updated on the Club Diary page. Make sure you keep your eye on the club notice board for entry forms etc, as most cometitions will have closing dates to ensure the organisers can plan for the event. Good Luck everybody.

AGM Season

The AGM Season is almost upon us, and notification of the meeting will be sent in December. Any club member wishing to submit a proposal for the AGM which will take place on 18th January are to send their proposal to the club secretary. Al proposal are voted on in their entirety so please ensure the wording of the proposal is accurate.

Club registration will take place over the weekend of 5-6 January commencing at 10:00am on each day.

This year, the Complex will hold its AGM separately on January 11 commencing at 7:00 pm, this is an important meeting as the new Constitution and New trustees need to be agreed upon, so members are asked to support this meeting.
