It’s the Champion of Champions Competition this Sunday at 1.30 pm. This will be a knock out between all those who are able to come from the winners of last season’s competitions. This year Norma Ashford, Pat Kinsey, Keith Lockley Helen Blunt, Clive Pittaway, Val Johns, Joe Ashford, Len Cartwright and Trevor West should be in action. Cath is arranging for cakesto go with our tea and coffee. It would be very much appreciated if lots of supporters come to cheer them on and help to score and measure for the players.

The Triples competition is due to take place on Sunday 14 May. This on relies on entries from all abilities of players so that we can mix team players with less experienced ones to give everybody a chance to win in this competition. But we need you to sign up please! If you are a team player, please lend your expertise, if not join in to help improve your experience of bowling.

There is still plenty of room for more to enter the open competitions for this season. All abilities are welcome. There is a small charge of £1.50 to cover costs. Ideally these will be drawn so that they can start in May and go through to the finals on Sunday 24 September. You can arrange to play your opponent(s) at times to suit yourselves avoiding match and social sessions (details elsewhere on this website). So please sign up soon.

The ladder competition has been set up to enable more members to play games of singles only normally available to those who play in our teams. This is designed to help bridge that confidence gap newer players often feel when asked if they would like to play for a team and don’t think they are good enough. Many of you are, so have a go and prove it to yourself! The plan is for people who get fewer opportunities to play this format can play singles with a range of different players over the season. As with the open competitions you can arrange your games at your convenience.
